With so many unforgettable things to do in Corfu, one visit is never enough.

Its true fact that many locations in Europe are worth visiting and they are offering nice beaches and relaxing atmosphere for summer vacations, but very few of them are in the list of return-back-as-soon-as-possible one more time. Corfu is one of such locations! This is particularly right when it comes to the greatest things to do in Corfu, which are scattered over the island.

This fortress, perched on a small rocky spur more than 300 meters above sea level.

Aggelokastro (castle of the Angel) was erected in the 13th century as a commanding lookout over the sea, mainland Greece, and large swaths of Corfu. Angelokastro's approach is rather spectacular, rising up through scrub and cypress trees to this impregnable castle that occupies a tiny rocky pedestal. Angelokastro was Corfu's formal capital under the Venetians from the 14th century and withstood three sieges during the 16th and 18th centuries.

If you love hiking, then its worth having a look to Porto Timoni, which is one of the most instagrammed part of the island.

Its better to rent a car to arrive there because the distance is quite far from center and the roads are very narrow for buses. Park in the village (or just outside) and walk down to the beach for a 30-minute stroll. The beach itself is fantastic for swimming and snorkeling; just bring a picnic lunch, lots of drink, and sunscreen with you, because the beach is not organized, therefore there are no facilities around.

The Canal d'Amour is one of Corfu's greatest natural beauties.

It is located on the island's northern point, about a 20-minute walk from the similarly interesting little settlement of Sidari. It is characterized by spectacular sandstone rock formations that provide a natural passageway from its little beach to the dazzling blue waters of the Ionian Sea. You may leap from rocks into the warm, salty sea and then swim through tunnels and caverns for incredible, fishy underwater excursions — snorkeling equipment and sun loungers and umbrellas can be hired at the beach.

Considered to have one of the island's greatest sunsets.

Loggas Beach is an excellent spot to unwind and rest while watching the sun set over the sea. Either down to the beach or remain on the cliffs and seat in the clifftop café 7th Heaven for a frappe or ouzo (for the non-drivers). It's a fantastic site and well worth the visit after a long day of experiencing Corfu's top activities.

Corfu's main church dates from 1580, and its Renaissance bell tower is the Ionian Islands' tallest.

The church was relocated to this place after its predecessor was dismantled to make room for the fortress. It houses the remains of St Spyridon, which were transported to Corfu city from Constantinople in the 15th century.

La Grotta beach in Paleokastrttsa is another of Corfu's most magnificent beaches, located on the island's west coast.

While the beach itself is tiny and rocky, diving into the brilliant blue seas reveals an underwater world teeming with vibrant species. Additionally, the beach has a diving board and a jump rock from which visitors may jump into the water below. The beach becomes busy in the summer, although there are some nearby rocks where you may stretch out.

Paleokastritsa is located on the west coast of Corfu, 25 kilometers northwest of Corfu Town.

It contains a magnificent length of indented coast with six deep, curving coves sheltering gorgeous beaches of sand and pebble that continue to a crystal-clear, blue sea. It is popular with day trippers, and as a result, it may become rather crowded during peak season.

Glyfada beach is a lovely, long length coastline of fine golden sand beach flanked with loungers and umbrellas.

Glyfada, often regarded as the island's nicest beach, is also located on the island's west coast, 26 kilometers west of Corfu town and two kilometers south of the settlement of Pelekas (a lovely small village with fantastic view-check out absolutely the Kaiser’s Throne before going to the beach). A lovely, long length coastline of fine golden sand beach flanked with loungers and umbrellas and backed by pine and olive grove-covered slopes.

Achilleion is a palace built in Gastouri on the Island of Corfu for the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Sisi.

In 1888, Elisabeth of Bavaria, Austria's Empress, commissioned the construction of a holiday home on a hilltop site approximately 10 kilometers south of Corfu City. This Neoclassical mansion, constructed by Italian architect Raffaele Caritto, is dedicated on the hero Achilles. For the gardens, the famed German artist Ernst Herter created sculptures inspired by Greek mythology (the most famous shows Achilles in his death throes). You may visit the gardens, which are enhanced with balustrades, a column, fountains, and Herter's sculptures among the palms and groomed cypress trees.
